“The greatest gift is not being afraid to question” –Ruby Dee
Many people ask questions, however, it is essential to learn to ask the right ones. While most people are looking for answers, real leaders are looking for questions. So what are the questions that highly successful people ask themselves daily?
#1 If I could change one personality trait about myself, what would it be?
This is probably the hardest question of all. It is not always easy to admit your own imperfections or mistakes, but if you want to be able to understand the world around you, first you need to know the world inside you. So it might be hard to change a habit, but after all, success is what you are aiming for, right? Once you are honest with yourself about the things that are stopping you, not only will you be able to eliminate them, but you will find it easier to perform better at work, to be more loving and supporting at home, and to achieve all your goals. Speaking of goals….
#2: If I could achieve one of my goals in the next three months, what would it be?
Studies prove that it is essential to stay focused on your main goal. Even though you might have other stepping stones, everything you do should be connected to your main goal and all your actions should be supporting it.
So think about what you can achieve in the next three months and focus your efforts mainly on it. If you complete this challenge, you will make a big step in your life and the feeling of accomplishment will make achieving the next 3-month goal easier.
#3: How can I help many people in a small period of time?
It is very simple – you are on a mission. Whatever message you have to share with the world and really make a difference, you are doing it to help others. So think about how can you reach out to many people in a small period of time and increase your influence, so that you can spread your message even faster.
One of the things you can use to spread your message to a bigger audience is by creating your own Online Course. Sharing your knowledge with the world is a powerful way to influence others. #4: What are the 3 most important things I can change in the next 30 days?
One of the things that differentiate highly successful people is that they are not afraid of change. On the contrary, they embrace change in their life and they are always looking for ways to improve their skills, to expand their knowledge, to be better. You can look at this as a game – make a list of all the things that you want to change, then choose the 3 most important and start working on eliminating or changing them. You can even write down everything you did toward this change in order to track your success in the upcoming month.
#5: If I knew my dream would come true tomorrow, what would I do today?
They say integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. But are you doing the right thing for yourself? Sometimes it is easy to get lost in your everyday life and forget what is truly important to you.
Instead, successful people are always trying to prepare and be their best self for the moment when their dream will come true. Believing that it will happen and acting like it already did, is the key to achieving anything you want.
#6: If I was on the other side, what would I do?
Being a good communicator is one of the traits all highly successful people have. This means they are good at listening, and they have the ability to analyze the situation from every angle.
This will not only help you in solving a current problem – having a wider perspective is power because you can implement this experience in many other different situations. So ask yourself – how does this situation look on the other side? What would you do? You might just be surprised 🙂
#7: Can someone help me?
This doesn’t mean that you don’t want to take responsibility, or that you are incapable, it simply means that you are aware of your strengths and weaknesses and you are OK with asking for help to improve.
This is what successful people do – whenever they are not able to handle something entirely on their own, they seek advice from someone who will help them master a new skill. Knowledge is never wasted when shared.
#8: Am I doing my best?
It doesn’t really matter in which area of life – you always have to give your 100%.
There are two reasons – first, you will be able to say : “I honestly did my best” no matter the outcome, therefore you will leave free of regrets or guilt. And second – once you are doing your best, everything else falls into place – new opportunities come your way, you meet the right people and even if the result is not exactly what you wanted, somehow it turns out to be better. If you are doing your best, you have no time to worry about failure.
#9: What can I do for the people that matter to me?
You may not realize it, but a lot of people need your help. A lot of people need to hear your message, your opinion matters. So ask yourself: Is there any way to help someone today? And if the answer is yes, do everything in your power to do so.
Successful people are really those who spread happiness, who are willing to offer support and who are not afraid to show others the path to success.
#10: Have I done everything possible today to have my dream tomorrow?
If question number 1 was the hardest, this is maybe the most important one. Knowing where you stand is really crucial. At the end of the day, you can be happy and proud of what you did, or you can feel like you haven’t done enough. It’s really up to you but as Og Mandino said: “What you plant now, you will harvest later.” Plant wisely and remember that the only day we really have…is today.
So how bad do you want to succeed? Because if you believe in something, then be willing to try everything it takes to achieve it. Some of these questions may not be helpful to you, and that is normal, you are unique, you have your own talents and passions.
Whatever you do – keep asking questions. Question everything. Every stripe, every star, every spoken word. Everything.
